Andrea is a Food Network Canada personality having appeared as a host on Restaurant Takeover, as a contestant on the Top Chef Canada Season 1 and All-Stars. Andrea was also the Chef expert on the Marilyn Denis Show. Andrea is currently a judge on Fire Masters seen on the Cooking Channel and Food Network.

Andrea
Since the early age of thirteen, Andrea has been consumed by the art of food. She is a creator, teacher and connoisseur.
Andrea is a Red Seal certified chef who received her culinary training at George Brown College in Toronto. Her professional experience includes positions in respected Toronto restaurants and culinary institutes such as Luce, Via Allegro, The Fifth, Humber College, George Brown College, 35 Elm, Trattoria Nervosa, and Partner/Culinary Director of Great Cooks, as well as traveling the culinary globe and working with internationally acclaimed chefs and the world renowned 6 star luxury liner Regent Seven Seas.
Andrea has also trained in New York City under Roberto Caporuscio and now holds a diploma from the A.P.N. of Naples, Italy, distinguishing her as a certified Pizzaiuoli.
Andreas passion for food is evident in her masterful creations, which celebrate the purity of local and seasonal ingredients. Supporting sustainability, Canadian farmers, purveyors and Ocean Wise is the central tenet of her cuisine. Through this love of local and seasonal produce, Andrea created her own artisan product line called Killer Condiments which is available across Canada.

Andrea currently owns the wildly popular Butchie’s Restaurant, Banana’s Ice Cream Sandwiches and Dish Play: Durham’s Culinary Gathering Place.
Christina
Executive Assistant to Andrea and Social Media Coordinator. Christina can be seen taking mouth-watering pictures of food for Butchie’s and Banana’s social media, running around planning drag shows and helping Andrea build a culinary empire.
After working in craft beer for a decade, Christina took time off to have and raise her daughter, Imogen. The end of 2020 brought Christina and her family to Durham Region and it was time for a new adventure.
Christina loves the camaraderie amongst her colleagues and the fact that every day brings new challenges to her job at Dish Play. Her favourite things include tea, thrifting and having a good chat over a great beer.
Karina
Karina is our extremely talented Head Chef. She grew up in Courtice and went to George Brown for Culinary Management and Nutrition. After starting her culinary career in Toronto, she made the spontaneous decision to move to Vancouver where she flourished for 5 years gaining experience at a variety of diverse restaurants.
Missing her family, she moved with her partner back to Whitby and Butchie’s has been her place of work ever since.
Karina loves to learn and gain new skills. She hunts out new restaurants and tries to be one of the first people to try them out. She loves to walk her dog Bocuse, spend time at her family cottage and do crafts while watching Rupaul’s Drag Race.
